The Evolution of Across America Insurance Services
A Dream Is Born
Harish Kapur grew up in India. In the early 1990s, Harish's father, a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a successful career as a professor in India, decided to move to the United States, the land of opportunity. He was invited by the U.S. government for his vocational expertise, and Harish joined him.
Introduction to Insurance
Harish was employed for three years at a convenience store before being recruited by Farmers Insurance as an agent in late 1995. This was when his life really began to change, and was also when he met his future wife, Rajni, a CPA by profession.
Farmers Insurance
For seven years, the Kapurs owned and operated a successful, profitable Farmers Insurance agency, generating upwards of $1.5 million in premiums. In 2003, they decided to join the independent insurance sector.
All Solutions Insurance
In 2003, the Kapurs launched their own independent agency. With a focus on commercial risks and contracting with leading insurance companies, the agency volume quickly grew to $25 million, with $10 million in commercial trucking and transportation.
Launch of Across America Insurance Services
After 12 years of rapidly growing a transportation book and industry expertise in commercial trucking, the Kapurs wanted a way to provide the level of service they felt retail agents deserved. Later that year, in September 2015, they launched an MGA and Across America Insurance Services opened its doors with a vision to reinvent the MGA model for the commercial transportation and trucking industry.
Today and Beyond
While there are larger MGAs, it’s our past experience, personal communication, and superb efficiency that sets us aside from other MGAs in the commercial trucking and transportation space.
